The July Featured Square Inch belongs to

Terre Compton, (Deed #0000857), of Trinidad, Colorado.

Last month Terre's beloved pet hamster, Bruno fell victim to a random act of feline violence. Terre's one regret was that Bruno had so little opportunity during his short life to frolic in the wilds, so she knew that he would be most happy being put to rest on her square inch.

The June Featured Square Inch belongs to

Grady Grissom, (Deed #0000275), of La Animas County, Colorado.

Grady realizes that the future of Southeastern Colorado rests, not in the federalization of its land, or in the militarization of its economy, but in alternative energy development.  He's not waiting for the big-scale wind farms to get established. Grady says, "small is beautiful."

The May Featured Square Inch belongs to

Doug Holdread, (Deed #0000003), of Trinidad, Colorado.

Unfortunately, due to the carelessness of some unknown person, Doug now finds it necessary to establish the first prohibition within the otherwise libertarian Pinon Canyon Land Association. His square inch is hereby declared "smoke free."

The April Featured Square Inch belongs to

Lindsay Downs, (Deed #0000585), of Nashville, Tennessee.

Lindsay discovered an unusual mushroom growing on her square inch recently, so she snapped a picture. But it wasn't until she enlarged the image on her computer that she realized how unusual it really was.

The March Featured Square Inch belongs to

Cathy Mullins, (Deed #0000001), of Thatcher, Colorado.

Cathy is sick and tired of Army maneuvers crossing over the fence line onto her square inch.  She thinks that the 25 million acres that the Army already has should be enough.

The February Featured Square Inch belongs to

India Wood, (Deed #0000869), of Boulder, Colorado.

India has been dreaming of a little cabin at Pinon Canyon.  After saving her pennies she was recently able to transform her $.90 into a cute little get-away house on the prairie.

The January Featured Square Inch belongs to

Steven Friedman, (Deed #0000061), of Denver, Colorado.

In a colossal deal with Software Giant Microsoft, Bill Gates today announced
that the two square inches of Pinion Canyon land owned by Steven Friedman
will be prominently featured on every Windows Desktop as their default
opening screen.

The December Featured Square Inch belongs to

Mike Balenti, (Deed #0000469), of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Eureka! Mike molded 3 ounces of lead that he mined from his square inch of Pinon Canyon Land, (the result of an errant 50mm projectile) into a commemorative sculpture celebrating his bonanza.

The November Featured Square Inch belongs to

Rebecca Goodwin, (Deed #0000012), of La Junta, Colorado.

Having failed in her effort to persuade the Daughters of the American Revolution to erect a stone marker on her property, Rebecca took it upon herself to erect a marker. Her property is of course, on the historic Santa Fe Trail!

The October Featured Square Inch belongs to

Bill Sulzman, (Deed #0000004), of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

An unexplained meteorological anomaly occurred recently of Bill's square inch.  His land experienced a sudden deluge of over an inch of precipitation while his neighbors remained relatively dry. Bill theorizes that it may have had something to do with the lingering effects of Hurricane Ike.

The September Featured Square Inch belongs to

Steve Friedman (Deed #0000061), of Parker, Colorado.

Drill Baby Drill!  In keeping with the government's proposal to drill for oil on every square inch of land if we need to, Steve has started doing precisely that on his square inch.

The August Features Square inch belongs to

Lori Holdread (Deed #0000002), of Trinidad, Colorado.

Observed on Lori's Piņon Canyon land was the Armored Dung Beetle, militarius americanus, stubbornly pushing a ball of bovine feces across Lori's square inch of real estate.
